To obtain a burning permit:

1) Download the Hamilton-Wenham Burning Permit

2) Print the form, fill it out completely and sign.

3) Bring the form to the Emergency Center (at the Hamilton Police/Fire Station) with a check (no cash accepted) made out to the appropriate town. Permits are available January 15 - May 1.

All burning will cease and fires shall be extinguished by 4:00 PM.

The Hamilton and Wenham Fire Departments reserve the right to inspect the burning site at any time.

Cost of calls to extinguish fires after regular burning hours will be at the property owners expense.

Burning season is from January 15 – May 1.

Owner MUST renew permit DAILY, 978-468-5513 PRIOR TO BURNING

Permits will be issued to property owners only.

Brush only shall be burned.
